High in the shadow of a jagged mountain pass, Gravefell is a bleak and mysterious village where superstition and survival intertwine. The fortress perched above the settlement looms as both a guardian and a grim reminder of the dark times that have shaped its people. Worn cobblestone streets wind between poor houses and workshops where blacksmiths scrape a living from limited resources and fishmongers bring in strange but tasty catches from the small but deep lakes.

The people of Gravefell are fiercely self-reliant, driven by the dangers of the mountain and the eerie presence of the coven rumored to dwell in the surrounding forests. These witches, feared and avoided, are said to curse those who trespass on their lands. Beneath the fortress lies the mystic's hall, where those brave enough seek answers to the supernatural occurrences that plague the town.

Trade with the outside world is essential but perilous. Frigates can reach the rock infested bay docks half a days walk down the mountain but the perils keep all but those making a large profit away. Wine merchants pass through, brightening the grim atmosphere with fleeting indulgences. Pages, treasure hunters, warrior and heroes brave dangerous routes through the mountain pass seeking glory and riches, stopping only to purchase and repair their gear and brag of their intentions. Most do not return from the mountains.

At the heart of the settlement lies the relic chamber, a shrine where townsfolk leave offerings to ward off curses and seek blessings for safety and prosperity.

Gravefell is a place of resilience, where survival is a daily struggle, and the line between the natural and the supernatural is faint. For those who can weather its challenges, it offers a unique and haunting beauty, a home shaped by the mountains and the secrets they hold.
