Wernt is a well placed port town on the southern coast, ruled with an iron grip by Lord Arbridge, a cunning and ambitious noble. The town serves as a vital hub for trade and security, with Arbridge’s fleet of corsairs patrolling the seas, ensuring the king’s southern ports remain safe from piracy - or so they claim. Whispers persist that the lord’s reach extends to the very pirates his corsairs hunt, suggesting a profitable arrangement in the shadows.

The waters surrounding Wernt shimmer unnaturally, infused with wild magic that causes strange phenomena, from glowing tides to sea creatures behaving oddly. These magical currents are echoed in the neighboring woods, where the Wild Hunt is said to roam. Many warn against venturing too deep into the forests, for those who do rarely return the same.

The town itself is a mix of bustling markets and quiet temples. The Farmers’ Market, held weekly, draws traders and villagers from across the region, offering everything from freshly harvested produce to mystical trinkets. Near the market stands a crumbling temple, said to hold the blessing of the sea gods, though few worship there anymore. Wernt’s docks are constantly alive with activity, with both native villagers and outsiders bartering and loading wares, while Arbridge’s personal mansion looms above the town like a silent overseer.
