Prosperity & Rising Sun

Lying along the shimmering Hiso River, the city of Shinkarō thrives as a center of commerce and culture. Its defining feature is its riverboat wharves, where elegantly crafted vessels glide between markets, carrying goods up and down the river. Shinkarō's grand market is a spectacle of color and sound, a maze of stalls laden with exotic wares, vibrant silks, and the delicate craftsmanship of the city's revered artisans.

The river shrines are place of serene beauty adorned with cascading cherry blossoms, that attract peasants and nobles alike, seeking blessings for prosperous trades, good fortune on family affairs and safe journeys. Craftsmen labor diligently in workshops, their skilled hands producing intricate goods that are the pride of Shinkarō, while root cellars are stocked with produce and fortified storehouses ensure the city’s supplies remain secure.

Suishō o Kamu Monos, and their crystal ball salons are the talk of the city, where fortunes are told and alliances forged. Shinkarō owes much of its success to the wise stewardship of its council, but whispers of rivalry between the littered nobles, who claim ancestral ties to the city, and the river traders, who seek greater influence, keep tensions simmering.

In Shinkarō, the river is both a food source and a highway, tying the city to its neighbors and the broader world and putting fresh fish on their tables daily. But the city's greatest treasure remains its people: ever diligent, ever ambitious, and ever eager to prosper.
