Doewann, perched on the contested frontier, wears its scars from the Estrata War with grim determination. Entire neighborhoods lie in ruins, while others bustle under the determined efforts of merchants trying to keep trade flowing. The city's renowned markets cling to life, selling whatever goods the war hasn't claimed. Dredknight Fortress looms a day's march away, a bulwark against invasion but not invincible to Estratan guerilla tactics. Magnates work tirelessly to keep the city functioning, yet every night brings fresh whispers of another caravan plundered or outlying farms torched.

The war has also given rise to scavengers - some looking for lost treasure in ruined estates, others driven by desperation. A tangle of military barricades, make-shift fortifications, and frantic rebuilding attempts define the city's battered yet unyielding character.
