Raymarr is a burgh on the edge of Lake Tormus, shadowed beneath the towering Barkwood trees of Gull Forest. Once a vibrant settlement, it is now a settlement of contrasts. At its heart lies the famed fairgrounds, home to the annual "Maid Shala's Tournament." This prestigious jousting event draws competitors from across the realm, eager to claim glory in the arena. The competition transforms the town into a lively hub of color and spectacle, a brief reprieve from the dark cloud that hangs over it.

Plague has ravaged Raymarr, leaving many homes abandoned and derelict. But worse still, the "Temple of Enduring Pain" has entrenched itself in the burgh. Its cultists, preaching suffering as salvation, have corrupted parts of the leadership, deepening the misery of those who remain. The cult's influence spreads like a shadow, turning Raymarr into a haven for despair and fanaticism.

Across Lake Tormus, the imposing Fortress De'Jurn looms - a reminder of the town’s former strength and now home to the cultists. The lake itself is alive with ferries, carrying both travelers and those seeking to escape the burgh’s decay. Yet, for those who stay, the fairgrounds and its tournament remain a flickering beacon of pride amid the growing darkness.
