Duskmire is a settlement haunted by decay and despair, where every choice feels like a wager against death itself. Set amid a fetid marsh, the town is an uneasy mix of crumbling hovels and stark ruins. Bandit camps linger on the outskirts, raiding what little remains of the town’s resources. Scavengers pick through the detritus of the dead, looking for anything of value - relics, tools, or even scraps of food. Rats swarm the alleys, spreading sickness and gnawing at what little hope survives.

At the center of Duskmire lies the Necropolis, a foreboding place of ancient tombs and crypts that the graverobbers plunder by night, risking curses for coin. Mystics whisper dark omens from the shadows, offering cryptic advice to those desperate enough to seek them out. The impoverished barter in the storeroom, where items of questionable origin exchange hands.

Yet amidst the gloom, there is a strange resilience. The few sages who remain work tirelessly to find a way to lift the town’s curses, their candles burning late into the night. And those bold enough to steal from the bandit lords or pillage what remains in forgotten ruins are celebrated as unlikely heroes. In Duskmire, survival itself is a victory, and every day is a calculated move in the endless game against the specter of death.
