Sleigholme is a modest town, built by the sea and surrounded by rolling pastures. It has recently become a refuge for displaced peoples seeking shelter from conflicts and disasters, adding tension to the generally peaceful community. The town is an economic hub, renowned for its busy fish market and thriving goat farming industry.

The town is far from united however, with several factions vying for power. The priesthood seeks to enforce spiritual and moral order, positioning themselves as guardians of tradition and stability. The town cavalry, led by ambitious officers, views the influx of refugees as an opportunity to consolidate authority, recruiting new members to bolster their ranks. Meanwhile, a shadowy coven of witches operates in secret, weaving influence among the discontented and plotting against both the priesthood and the cavalry.

Adding to the intrigue, the King’s recruiters have arrived in Sleigholme, hiring skilled swashbucklers to spy and root out any sinister plots that could threaten the crown’s interests. The recruiters' presence has only heightened suspicions and rivalries among the factions, as each scrambles to gain the upper hand.

Despite these divisions, Sleigholme’s people endure. The daily rhythms of fishing boats unloading their catch, goatherds tending their flocks and bringing their produce to market, and merchants haggling in the bazaar keep the town alive and vibrant. Yet beneath the surface, tensions simmer, and the future of Sleigholme hangs in the balance, caught between ambition, faith, and secrecy.
