Within the snow-laden peaks of the Akashita Mountains, the city of Kinzoku-Yama thrives despite the relentless grip of winter. This far-northern settlement is renowned for its gold mines, which lie beneath the icy ridges, mines that have made Kinzoku-Yama a hub of wealth and commerce, drawing traders and adventurers alike who brave the perilous mountain passes to seek their fortune.

The city's streets are lined with tea houses, offering warm respite to weary travelers. These establishments are more than just places to drink tea - they serve as gathering spots where advisors and emissaries from all over the Empire meet to plan ventures or share secrets. Towering above the city sits the Daimyo’s Hall, a grand wooden structure adorned with red and black lacquered beams, where the regional ruler oversees matters of trade and diplomacy.

At the heart of Kinzoku-Yama lies the Shrine of the Solstice, a sacred site revered during the harshest winters. The shrine's priests and mystics perform rituals under the gaze of the mystical snake witches - figures feared and respected in equal measure for their ability to summon curses upon the cities foes. These rituals ensure bountiful harvests come spring and protection from the spirits of the icy wilderness.

Life can be difficult but the population endures here, with farriers keeping the dogged mountain ponies in good condition and hunting parties venturing into the frigid wilds to provide for the city's survival. The Daimyo maintains a entourage of jesters to keep spirits high year round and especially during the often harsh winters.

Kinzoku-Yama is a city of contrasts - both austere and vibrant, rich in tradition but harshly pragmatic in its pursuit of survival in an unforgiving land.
