Triumph of the Bandit King

Redhearth is a city fractured in two, split between the anarchy of the Bandit King's rule and the desperate resistance of the city’s last Legionaries. The bandits have claimed the eastern half of the city, turning market squares into lawless bazaars filled with stolen goods and taverns that never close. Bandit camps sprawl in the ruins of once-proud neighborhoods, where the Bandit King reigns from a makeshift palace of gold and iron, his charm and ruthlessness keeping his chaotic forces in line.

The western half is a stark contrast - a fortified zone where the legionaries cling to their fading authority. Every day is a struggle as they ration supplies, tend to hunting grounds for food, and maintain the last vestiges of order. Engineers work tirelessly to repair crumbling fortifications, while groundskeepers tend the city’s defiled shrines and gardens, hoping to restore some semblance of hope to the weary population. Beneath the city, catacombs wind deep into the earth, a neutral zone where both sides trade in secrets, gold, and treachery.

The triumph of the Bandit King feels inevitable, but the Legionaries’ leader has vowed to fight until the end. The city’s people are torn between allegiance to order and survival under chaos. Redhearth has become a tale of two cities, where victory for one side will mean ruin for the other, and only the cunning, ruthless, or brave will survive.
