Kurokage, is an enigmatic and secluded town hidden in a misty valley surrounded by dense forests and rocky cliffs. Known for its intricate blend of artistry, mysticism, and shadowy dealings, the town thrives on its duality of light and dark.

On the edge of Kurokage lies the sacred groves, serene and mystical sanctuaries where residents and travelers come to receive blessings or commune with nature’s spirits. The groves are adorned with ancient stone lanterns and whispering trees, casting an air of tranquility. The river banks house shrines glistening in the sunlight, their sacred waters believed to cleanse sickness and grant prosperity.

Beyond the tranquility of the sacred sites lie Kurokage's dark corners. Conclaves of shadowy skulking figures gather to broker clandestine deals and some say to plot the end of the town. The presence of werewolves during the night adds to the town's eerie reputation, their howls sending chills through even the bravest souls and the spreading sickness in the settlement blamed on their lycanthropic bites. Babies have begun being stolen by changelings and a great plague is on everyone's minds. Tanuki have begun to emerge from the forests and wander the alleys, their motives initially thought to be harmful but many now realise they are trying to protect the babies and help the townsfolk.

The townsfolk are a mix of artisans, miners, and aristocrats. Skilled artists capture the beauty of Kurokage’s serene moments in their works, while miners labor in the gold mines to bring forth riches from the cliffside tunnels.

Kurokage’s beauty lies in its paradoxical nature - a town where the sacred and the sinister coexist, creating a settlement as alluring as it is unnerving. It is a place of artistry and mystery, where every corner tells a story steeped in shadow and light.
