The city of Queensfield sits proudly amidst rolling green hills, its cobblestone streets weaving through a landscape dotted with towering monuments and ancient watchtowers, remnants of its founding years and the wars against the native inhabitants. These historical landmarks, now preserved as heritage sites, serve as both a point of pride for locals and an attraction for visitors.

At its heart lies the Academy of Learning, a sprawling institution where priests, witches, and scholars vie for influence within the Academy's Learned Council. This council wields significant power, and the academic scepter serves as a badge of authority for those fortunate - or cunning - enough to ascend its ranks. Though most academy members cooperate in their pursuit of knowledge, some refuse to set aside their differences, leading to occasional public dramas and simmering rivalries.

The city's modest port hugs the banks of a shallow, shifting waterway. While its size and depth limit its ability to attract large merchant vessels, smaller cargo ships brave the approach to deliver exotic goods and rare manuscripts. Land-based trade, however, dominates Queensfield's lively economy.
