Gapington is a resilient burgh situated just off the King's Highway, on the edge of the desert but far enough to escape its harsh grip. Once overwhelmed by relentless sandstorms, the villagers decided to abandon the original settlement and rebuild upstream along the Bangal River, where the protective embrace of the Opa Forest shields them from the desert's fury.

The new Gapington thrives as a center of trade and craftsmanship, with its famed ironmongers producing tools and goods that travel far and wide. At the heart of the burgh lies the legendary Altar of Justice, an imposing structure that draws visitors from across the region. Here, disputing parties present offerings to the gods and receive divine rulings as interpreted by the enigmatic Avatar, whose word is law and whose pronouncements are said to be the will of the gods themselves.

While the burgh is industrious and resourceful, it bears marks of its humble origins. The storerooms and trading posts hum with activity and a zesty spice trade, while the poorer quarters house those who work tirelessly to keep the village running. The catacombs of the old settlement have become a source of intrigue, with some villagers claiming the buried ruins beneath old Gapington still hold secrets of their forsaken past.
